When Life Asks You to Reinvent Yourself… Again

From leg braces to the Rockettes to rebuilding after the fire: what reinvention asks of us.

Pilates instructor Kelly Etter guiding a client through an exercise.

There are seasons in life that shatter your sense of self. And then there are seasons that shape a whole new version of you. I’ve been through both.

Born pigeon-toed and in leg braces, I defied the odds and became a professional dancer. I performed for decades, and even became a Rockette in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Then came motherhood. Then came divorce. Then came the day my home and business burned down.

Each of those moments forced me to let go of who I thought I was, and find something deeper. More real. More whole.

This reinvention is different

Right now, I’m walking through another reinvention. But this one is softer, more conscious, and rooted in something sacred: service, healing, and empowerment.

I’ve been interviewing people who’ve walked this same kind of path — people who’ve had to start over, shift direction, or piece themselves back together. If that resonates with you, I would be honored to hear your story. To hold space. To reflect. To connect.

You’re not broken, you’re brave

No pressure. Just presence. You’re not alone in your becoming.

With deep love and respect,
Kelly Etter
